Count Zeto Pantaleone Ulderico is a pampered Italian noble whose privileged life comes to a screeching halt when he and his cousin, Muccino, are trapped and taken by Guiseppe Tucci to his mink farm. Plagued with night-blindness and no ability to track or scent, or even hunt for himself, Zeto can no longer depend upon his name or position. While Prince Montega's military is shifting in their struggle to remain neutral, Zeto begins to realized that he has more in common with his fellow cellmates than he would like to admit and that neither his bluest of blood nor book-smart education can save him, but with the aid the beautiful Adrianna Benini and an entire cast of doomed minkmates, they begin to contemplate and plan the impossible, ~ escape... or... will they become articles of fashion in Milan's haute couture?

Set in Italy's Apennine Mountains, Mink is a stirring tale of adventure, courage and the quest for survival. It follows this very special mink on his journey through harrowing trials posed by adversaries and predators. It is about pathways and bridges that must be crossed against incredible odds.

Friendship is sometimes the only way to survive. "Mink" is the story of a young mink noble called Zeto who must is captured by a humans and seems destined to become a fur coat or scarf of some sort. But through the power of friendship, Zeto might be able to overcome the obstacles that stand between him and escape, and learn something much more in the process. "Mink" is a fine story that younger readers will relish.

Robyn Rolison-Hanna has created a unique and powerful story. Seemingly about an aristocratic mink and his not-so-aristocratic cousin the story transports us seamlessly into their world. A powerful love story, exciting military adventure and tale of courage and redemption all set in the world of minkdom makes this extremely captivating and enjoyable to read. Well-researched, it only adds to the realism of the story. The illustrations are very creative and give a sense of realism and recognition to the characters. Thank you, can't wait to see whar's next.

THIS IS A VERY GOOD STORY ABOUT THE WAY THAT ANIMALS ARE TREATED WHEN THEY ARE "FUTURE COATS" AND REALLY MIND BOGGLING WHEN YOU LEARN HOW MANY MINK PELTS ARE REQUIRED TO MAKE A COAT. THE STORY IS WELL-WRITTEN AND HELD MY INTEREST; I LIKE THE WAY IT WAS WRITTEN AS THOUGH MINKS DO HAVE THEIR OWN REALMS AND FAMILIES( AND WHO CAN SAY THAT THEY DON'T?) I THINK THAT MANY TEACHERS CAN USE THIS BOOK AS A CLASSROOM TOOL TO TEACH THEIR STUDENTS ABOUT ANIMAL ABUSE. I BELIEVE THAT ANIMALS HAVE HEART AND SOUL JUST LIKE HUMANS........ WELL-DONE MISS ROLISON-HANNA!

5.0 out of 5 starsBlown Away in Belle Vernon, October 12, 2008

By Blown Away in Belle Vernon http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/x-locale/common/carrot._V47081519_.gif - See all my reviews

Being an A+ honors English student, I wasn't quite sure how I was going to react to this book without any previous knowledge. From the urging of a family friend, I read the book and was amazed at the imagination and creativity brought forth. I usually read the "Nicholas Sparks type books" so this was a change of pace, so to speak; I could never put the book down and was excited to witness each great turmoil and adventure unfold. Grammatically this novel was superb; I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if this were to be a pre-requisite for the SAT's. Personal recommendations for this book would effortlessly range from my 12 year old brother to my parents and teachers. I applaud Miss Rolison-Hanna. She truly has talent, and I am eager to read more great works of hers.

5.0 out of 5 stars"Eny Meeny Miny Moe...Catch a minky by the toe..." [Guisseppi Tucci ], August 29, 2008

By Robert Lanson http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/x-locale/common/carrot._V47081519_.gif - See all my reviews

I had initially bought the book for my niece's daughters who are big animal lovers. Just before mailing it out I opened it up to read a random page or two to get a sense of what it was about. By chance I happened to turn to the part where "COBRA" their version of "special forces", were just about to launch a military style rescue mission. I was so intrigued by the author's description of it I immediately turned to the beginning to get an idea of why this was happening. Once I read the prologue and was introduced to Guisseppi Tucci, the mink farmer, I had to continue. Well two days later, I had my answer and then some. Not only did I find out why there was a needed rescue, but I learned a lot about the weasel like mammal and the cruelty of mink farming itself. Great book with a great ending. But I was sad when it did end, because I came to love all the characters. This would be a good book for kids or "really big kids" [adults] to read over a cold rainy or snowy weekend. Also would be a good gift for Christmas as a "stocking stuffer". Just don't open the book until after you give it, or you will have to buy a second one like I did.

This book was really excellent. I couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to see what happened to the minks in the story. The minks were really great characters, and there was a little bit of everything in the story - humor, excitement, and romance. I gained much knowledge about mink farming and the inhumanity of it. This book will be enjoyed by everyone from the very young to the very old. I plan on reading it with my students at school. There is a lot of educational worth to this book as well. Definitely Great!!!

d I'm 80 years old!!!!, August 13, 2008

This book is truly entertaining for the young and the old. A good read for the entire family. I couldn't put it down. I love animals and have never read anything about minks, therefore, this was very educational as well. No smut or violence...and still a great read. The characters are well developed and interesting, and how they view the human world is right on target. Bravo to the author!!!
